Quinoa is an ancient, nutritious food that has been cultivated for more than 5000 years. It is a whole grain that has been classified by the National Academy of Science as one of the best sources of protein in the vegetable realm.

Due to its nutrition contents, quinoa is becoming more and more popular.

Before we get to the recipes, lets take a look at some of the the facts concerning quinoa garin:

  • It originated in South America.
  • The Incas grew it at 12,000 feet above sea level.
  • It was called "the mother grain" by the Incas.
  • It was thought as a sacred food around which the Incas performed reverent rituals.
  • It is called "Golden Grain" in one of its Chinese names.
