My name is Wenping in Mandarin Chinese; I'm called Sophia by many in the United States. I'm the woman in the middle of the picture at left and the person behind this website.
Yes, the two pretty girls are my daughters and they are one of the main reasons that I cook and try to improve my cooking constantly.
Chinese cooking is in my blood. I began to help in our family kitchen at kindergarten age, and my independent cooking started when I was in elementary school. This may contribute to the fact that I think daily cooking is very easy. Cooking is an art of spontaneous creation with whatever you have in your refrigerator. That’s why I used music notes on this site’s header image. Cooking is another way of composing. Do you think so?
Because my spontaneousness, I normally don't use measurement in my Chinese cooking (I do use measurement when it’s time to bake.) Like many of you may have experienced, you just know how much for what and at what time is right for your dish. However, this present certain challenge when I write recipes. I need to remember to measure the amount of ingredients I used. It's a pain sometimes; but well, a pain that is worth bearing. (LOL.)
For a person who loves food and life, having a private colletion of recipes is normal. And I want to share what I like. So I planned to have this website as my own online food and nutrition library, and for sharing too.

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."--Mark Twain
